The Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited is expected to play a key role in Ghana’s participation at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, UK 2026, through the proposed Ghana House project a national pavilion designed to project the country’s identity, tourism, culture, business, sports, and entertainment to the world.

The presentation, themed “Celebrating Sports, Culture, Business and Entertainment,” positions Ghana House as an immersive national experience under the brand identity “Ghana Rising – The Spirit of a Nation.” The activation is scheduled to run from 24th July to 1st August 2026 at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, UK.

As Ghana’s tourism development and investment promotion agency, GTDC’s participation is significant, especially in using the platform to promote Ghana’s tourism assets, investment opportunities, cultural experiences, and destination appeal to an international audience. The Ghana House concept is designed around the iconic Black Stars Square, with references to major Ghanaian landmarks such as Cape Coast Castle, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Independence Arch, and architectural symbols from Northern Ghana.

Through this platform, GTDC would have the opportunity to showcase Ghana’s tourism offerings, highlight investable tourism projects, and connect with global partners, investors, diaspora groups, private sector brands, and travel audiences. The pavilion’s daily programme structure is expected to feature a blend of business, culture, and entertainment, creating the right atmosphere for tourism promotion, stakeholder engagement, and destination marketing.

The Ghana House experience also makes room for Ghanaian food, fashion, music, sports branding, cultural storytelling, and outdoor media visibility. These elements align strongly with GTDC’s mandate to develop and promote tourism products that can attract both local and international participation.

The presentation further identifies GTDC among the participating institutions, alongside key national stakeholders such as the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Olympic Committee, the British High Commission, and other state and private sector partners.

For GTDC, Ghana House represents more than a ceremonial presence at the Commonwealth Games. It is a strategic opportunity to position Ghana as a leading destination for tourism, culture, investment, and experience-driven travel. By featuring in this global showcase, GTDC can help tell Ghana’s story boldly not only as a country of sporting excellence, but as a nation rich in heritage, creativity, enterprise, and unforgettable tourism experiences.
