From its origins in Kumasi the historic seat of the Asante Kingdom the initiative has grown beyond pageantry into a structured programme that incorporates mentorship, intellectual development, culinary skills training, and public speaking through its summit sessions, parliamentary sitting concept, and institutional outreach.

During the meeting, the organizers presented the brand’s journey, its national institutional reach, and its emphasis on promoting Ghanaian culture, identity, and womanhood through structured phases of training and public engagement. Particular attention was drawn to its culinary component, which aligns with the promotion of indigenous Ghanaian cuisine a key pillar within the country’s cultural tourism value chain.

Prof. Kobby Mensah commended the initiative for its strong youth development orientation and its potential to serve as a strategic partner in advancing domestic tourism. Discussions highlighted the opportunity to integrate Miss College Ghana activities into GTDC’s experiential tourism ecosystem, particularly through event tourism, campus activations, and cultural showcases.

A key outcome of the engagement was the introduction of the Ghana Tourism Marketplace (GTM) as a digital platform through which Miss College Ghana events, auditions, and grand finale activities can be profiled for visibility, ticketing, and nationwide promotion. This integration is expected to expand audience reach, drive participation, and position the programme within Ghana’s broader tourism and creative economy.

The meeting also explored possibilities for collaboration on curated tourism experiences for contestants, including heritage site visits, destination branding activations, and participation in flagship products such as AccraByNight, thereby linking youth pageantry with destination discovery.

This engagement marks the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership that places young Ghanaian women at the Centre of cultural storytelling, digital tourism promotion, and national identity building reinforcing GTDC’s commitment to youth-driven domestic tourism and creative industry development.
