The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) is proud to partner with Innovation for Empowerment and Development (IFED Global) in marking its 10th Anniversary with the transformative Africa Youth Festival 2025 a flagship continental event convening over 2,000 young Africans in Accra.

In line with Prof. Kobby Mensah’s vision of positioning Ghana as a youth-driven, innovation-led tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination, GTDC’s collaboration reinforces the role of tourism in youth empowerment, creative enterprise, and continental development.

About the Festival

Scheduled for November 5th–9th, 2025, the Africa Youth Festival will gather students, entrepreneurs, and young professionals from across Africa for five days of dialogue, skill development, and cultural exchange. The Opening Ceremony will take place at The AVI Event Centre, while the main festival activities will be hosted at the University of Ghana, Legon under the theme: “Reflect, Review & Reset: Igniting the Future of Africa’s Youth.”

GTDC’s Role and Commitment

GTDC’s partnership emphasizes the power of tourism as a platform for youth engagement and innovation. Through this collaboration, GTDC is contributing to the festival’s Creative Arts, Entrepreneurship, and Cultural Exchange tracks highlighting how tourism and culture can catalyse economic growth and social transformation. Prof. Kobby Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of GTDC, noted that this partnership aligns with the company’s agenda of empowering young Ghanaians and Africans to transform culture and tourism into viable career paths and investment opportunities.

Culture, Tourism & Youth Connection

Beyond the training, the festival will feature:

  • Global Village & Musical Concert – a celebration of African diversity through music, dance, and cultural performances.
  • The African Market – exhibitions of youth innovations in tech, fashion, and crafts, providing a tourism-driven platform for trade and visibility.
  • Advocacy Campaigns – focused on combating drug abuse and promoting responsible use of social media among the youth.

Through GTDC’s support, these experiences will be curated to showcase Ghana’s cultural richness while enhancing its appeal as the Centre of the World and a hub for African youth dialogue and development.
