Mr. Evans A. Adu-Gyamfi, the Heritage Coordinator at Central University’s Centre for Creative Expression and Policy Advocacy (CEPA), paid a courtesy visit to Professor Kobby Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company Ltd. (GTDC), at his office in Osu.
The meeting, among others, sought to explore a partnership between GTDC and Central University towards implementing CEPA’s project to develop a tourism trail based on a survey conducted on the University’s main campus at Miotso.
Professor Mensah expressed his outfit’s readiness to collaborate with Central University to explore and promote its tourism potential. He commended the initiative, noting that it aligns with Ghana’s broader vision of promoting domestic tourism while highlighting the importance of preserving natural and cultural heritage.
The Miotso campus of Central University is home to several fascinating tourism resources, including the biodiversity pond and its surrounding area, the Baobab Grove located behind the Administration enclave, the Miotso Tree, a Bird Sanctuary, Prayer Garden, and the rich landscape and greenery that frame the serene river running through parts of the campus.
Together, these features make the University’s environment a potential hub for eco-tourism, educational tours, and heritage appreciation, positioning Central University as a significant contributor to the nation’s tourism development efforts.
